Overview

In this role you lead PCA manufacturing engineering within the Eastbourne product team, driving introduction of new products and ensuring safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency. You will work with cross-functional colleagues to set up processes, documentation, and handovers that enable world-class manufacturing. You’ll apply continuous improvement to optimise PCA processes and capex-aligned investments. This position offers a chance to shape manufacturing capability and impact multiple Vacuum Technique divisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead PCA manufacturing engineering efforts and coordinate with cross-functional teams
  • Apply standardised costing before product launches and model product requirements
  • Update procedures, WIs, and training materials prior to process/system changes
  • Handover new products to operations and mentor key personnel
  • Create/update BOMs and routings in SAP; validate assembly times
  • Generate cost simulations and maintain routing accuracy with changes
  • Develop, publish, and maintain SOPs for new products
  • Deliver against KPIs and manage CEP-aligned financial performance
  • Benchmark and drive CI in PCA processes, equipment, and capability
  • Manage engineering change control within PCA zone; plan prototype/npi builds
  • Support DFM, PFMEA/DFMEA activities; participate in risk mitigation
  • Contribute to 8D problem solving; support TPM and Capex proposals
  • Support safety, quality, and ISO 45001:2018 compliance
  • Collaborate with CI Manager on CRWs and CEPs
  • Mentor and develop teams; foster ownership of new processes
  • Support broader Operations objectives and ad-hoc tasks as needed

Key requirements

  • Bachelor in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or related field
  • At least 3 years’ PCA operations experience
  • At least 3 years in an NPI role with design for manufacturing responsibility for electronic products
  • Strong PFMEA/DFMEA knowledge in electronics assembly (SMT and through-hole)
  • Excellent Lean Manufacturing understanding
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a small company environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
