Cost Manager – Health, Science & Education

Overview

As a Cost Manager in the Health, Science & Education team, you will drive end-to-end cost management for high-profile London projects, from feasibility to handover. You’ll work within a collaborative, client-focused culture to support healthcare and education schemes, including hospital developments, delivering value through robust cost controls. This role offers exposure to two-stage tendering, lifecycle costing, and multi-stakeholder governance, shaping outcomes on impactful projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cost management services for projects from pre-contract to handover
• Support achievement of client objectives through cost control and reporting
• Contribute to procurement activities including pre-qualification, tendering, and contract preparation
• Administer contracts (JCT/NEC) and manage client/stakeholder relationships
• Produce and present monthly post-contract cost reports
• Support value engineering, lifecycle costing, and cost planning across schemes

Key requirements

• Experience in healthcare and/or education sectors
• Ability to guide clients from feasibility to completion
• Experience with two-stage tendering
• Experience administering JCT and NEC contracts
• Experience managing client and stakeholder relationships in a cost management context
• Knowledge of risks/challenges in public-sector healthcare
• Experience producing monthly post-contract cost reports
• Experience in procurement activities and contract preparation
• Ability to negotiate final accounts
