Cisco Unified Communications Team Lead

Overview

In this onsite role in Stevenage, you lead a Cisco UC/Collaboration team within a secure technical environment. You will handle complex incidents, guide a hands-on team, and ensure health and resilience of the UC infrastructure. The role combines technical delivery with people leadership in a high-security setting. You’ll work on migrations, upgrades, and cross‑vendor collaboration to enable reliable communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a local Cisco UC / Collaboration team
• Resolve complex Level 2 telephony and video conferencing incidents
• Troubleshoot Cisco hardware, applications, endpoints and infrastructure
• Support and maintain Cisco CMS, Expressway, B2B and MRA environments
• Work across Cisco Room, SX, EQ, Webex and Board series endpoints
• Support CUCM, Unity Connection, Jabber, Cisco SBS and TRP
• Respond to customer escalations and coordinate vendor/L3 escalations
• Participate in UC and video conferencing projects, upgrades and implementations
• Ensure the overall health, security and resilience of the UC infrastructure
• Mentor the team and drive knowledge sharing and technical development

Key requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
• Experience with Cisco Meeting Server (CMS)
• Experience with Cisco Expressway / MRA / B2B
• Experience with Cisco video conferencing and collaboration endpoints
• Knowledge of SIP and H.323
• Understanding of video codecs and encryption
• Experience with Cisco Unity Connection and Jabber
• Knowledge of Cisco licensing and certificates
• VMware knowledge
• Experience in secure enterprise communications environments
