HVAC Engineer (heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Engineer)

Overview

You will be a field-based Refrigeration Engineer supporting a major retail portfolio through a national FM provider. You’ll service, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration across a large supermarket estate, handle reactive faults, and perform planned maintenance to high standards. The role combines technical field work with strong client-facing service and precise reporting. This is a growth-driven opportunity with both permanent and temporary positions, offering variety and impact in a busy retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair commercial refrigeration systems (packs, integrals, walk-ins)
• Fault finding and reactive breakdown response
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) in line with SFG20 standards
• Ensure work complies with F-Gas regulations and health & safety standards
• Accurate completion of job reports via PDA/CAF system
• Provide excellent client-facing service on-site

Key requirements

• Proven experience on commercial refrigeration in a retail or FM environment
• Valid F-Gas (Category 1) qualification
• NVQ / City & Guilds in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
