Senior Asset Management Consultant – Lifecycle Management

Overview

In this role you will shape asset management strategies for critical water and sewer assets, embedded with a central coast client for part of the week. You’ll turn data into practical lifecycle plans and work with stakeholders to improve performance and service outcomes. You’ll lead project delivery, support business growth in NSW, and mentor juniors within a collaborative team. This is a chance to influence how key infrastructure assets are managed across NSW with a trusted, client-facing advisory focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of strategic, tactical and operational asset management solutions for water and sewer infrastructure
• Transform condition, utilisation, defect and performance data into practical lifecycle strategies and asset management plans
• Develop and review Asset Management Plans, Strategic Asset Management Plans (SAMPs), lifecycle strategies, maintenance frameworks and investment plans
• Act as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, providing practical recommendations to improve asset performance
• Lead project delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes, client satisfaction and commercial success
• Support business development activities and help grow AECOM’s Asset Management presence across NSW
• Mentor and support junior consultants while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture

Key requirements

• 8-15 years’ experience in Asset Management, ideally within a consulting environment
• Strong experience developing asset lifecycle, maintenance and investment strategies across infrastructure assets
• Ability to translate strategic objectives into practical asset management plans
• Experience working directly with clients and building trusted long-term relationships
• Proactive, autonomous consulting style with the ability to solve problems and lead projects independently
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and commercial skills
• Bonus: water, wastewater or utility infrastructure experience; local government or authority experience; knowledge of ISO 55000 or contemporary asset management frameworks
