Overview

In this role you lead international category growth for the Newell Brands portfolio across EMEA and APAC, shaping retailer category leadership for brands such as Sharpie, Yankee Candle, NUK and more. You work with cross-functional teams to implement a Category Growth Selling Model that supports joint business planning and the execution of key growth initiatives. You will influence store and online presence, educate sales teams, and share insights across markets to drive sustainable category expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Support strategic growth priorities and key innovation projects in EMEA and APAC
  • Develop insight-driven, international category selling stories for assortment, shelf, merchandising, and promotion
  • Share selling stories with cluster sales/marketing for customization
  • Produce actionable insights and recommendations to steer business
  • Collaborate to update category playbooks with Global Brand, Analytics, International Marketing, and Sales Planning
  • Coach and train sales teams on leveraging category intelligence
  • Engage with Global Category Development and participate in monthly team meetings
  • Attend CSI share-out meetings to align research and learning plans
  • Deploy new content to the category management team via monthly leadership meetings

Key requirements

  • Proven category and shopper/consumer insights management in a large international company
  • Understanding of retailers’ selling process
  • Experience with syndicated data and tools (e.g., Nielsen, Circana, GfK)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Fluent English (written & spoken)
  • Willingness to travel internationally 25–35%
