Technical & Solution Architect (Distributed Ledger / Regulated Financial Services)

Overview

As a Technical & Solution Architect, you will lead the design of a distributed ledger-based post-trade platform in a regulated financial setting. You start hands-on as a senior engineer and progressively own system architecture, solution design, and technical direction. You will collaborate across product management, engineering, and client-facing discussions to shape a scalable, compliant product. This role offers ownership in a small, high-calibre team and exposure to cutting-edge market infrastructure, with a clear path to a formal architect position. You will influence product direction through strong technical insight and cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure distributed systems for regulated environments
• Define and evolve system architecture, APIs and integration patterns
• Apply software design principles and patterns in practice
• Contribute to smart contract and ledger design decisions
• Ensure auditability, resilience, and operational robustness
• Work with distributed ledger technologies and smart contracts to model tokenised assets and digital assets
• Understand and implement CBDC integration concepts and on/ off-chain trade-offs
• Translate regulatory and market structure requirements into technical design and post-trade infrastructure
• Contribute production-quality code in Java, JavaScript, Solidity and SQL; review code; improve CI/CD, testing and observability
• Communicate complex technical concepts to engineers, product management, clients and regulators
• Contribute to technical documentation and client materials
• Own key architectural decisions and lead solution design discussions within the team and with partners within 6–12 months

Key requirements

• Strong experience designing and building software products
• Solid understanding of distributed systems principles
• Experience with distributed ledgers and/or blockchain platforms
• Familiarity with tokenisation and digital asset concepts
• Strong API design experience (REST, event-driven architectures)
• Working knowledge of Java, JavaScript, Solidity, SQL
• Understanding of post-trade processes and regulatory constraints (CSDR, GDPR)
• Ability to adjust technical depth for different audiences
• Ambition to grow into a Technical & Solution Architect role
