Project Manager

Overview

As Electrical Project Engineer, you lead end‑to‑end delivery of high‑value HV/LV infrastructure projects. You work closely with clients, engineers, and delivery teams to ensure safe, on‑time, within‑budget results. You will handle scope, specifications, and commissioning, driving technical and commercial success. This role offers ownership of complex schemes across substations, retrofits, and upgrades in a respected power sector engineering firm.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination and delivery of HV and LV electrical projects
• Manage projects from 100k to 5m in value
• Define scope, objectives, deliverables, programmes and resources
• Develop technical specifications with engineering teams
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers and internal resources
• Monitor costs, budgets, variations and profitability
• Ensure safety, CDM compliance and company procedures
• Manage installation, testing, commissioning and handover
• Produce progress reports highlighting risks and mitigation
• Maintain strong client relationships and effective communication
• Support site surveys, tender activities and planning
• Drive continuous improvement and capture lessons learned
• Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance priorities

Key requirements

• Experience delivering HV and LV electrical infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of power distribution, switchgear, transformers, and protection schemes
• Proven project management experience in industrial, utilities, energy or infrastructure sectors
• Excellent commercial awareness with budget and P&L experience
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and safe systems of work
• Health and safety qualifications such as IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills
• Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while keeping quality and customer focus
