Overview
In this role, you will shape city-scale solutions within Buro Happold’s Global Urban Strategies team. You collaborate across disciplines to blend data analytics, urban modelling, and strategic advisory to deliver viable urban development outcomes. You will work with clients to translate insights into deliverable planning strategies and frameworks. The position offers international project exposure, hybrid work from London, and a chance to influence how cities evolve. Responsibilities
- Develop tailored consulting solutions that adapt to client needs
- Conduct planning and urban development research feeding into projects
- Prepare technical reports and client presentations
- Engage with colleagues and external collaborators to deliver integrated outputs
- Coordinate inputs from multiple disciplines ensuring quality and traceability
- Support proposals, fee estimates, and bid material
Key requirements
- Understanding of urban development challenges and integrated planning solutions
- Strong problem-solving with ability to interpret analytical outputs
- Experience delivering client-friendly, viable outcomes in a commercial setting
- Ability to liaise with clients and promote urban development solutions
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; comfortable with quantitative datasets
- Ability to produce high-quality technical reports
- Specialist expertise in: strategic advisory for urban plans, regional/city-scale planning frameworks, masterplanning of large-scale developments, data analytics and geo-spatial analysis
- Knowledge of statutory plan-making processes and ability to apply in different contexts
- Awareness of deliverability factors: land, phasing, infrastructure funding, governance
