Overview

In this role, you will own the operational and commercial performance of a high-value portfolio across prestigious City of London properties. You’ll lead engineering and FM teams, manage client relationships, and ensure compliance and timely delivery of maintenance. The role focuses on driving profitability, identifying growth opportunities, and upholding service levels across a CAFM-guided operation. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to shape service delivery and contract performance, contributing to the company’s growth and reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee planned and reactive maintenance for a portfolio of commercial properties
  • Lead and develop engineering and FM teams
  • Maintain strong client relationships as primary contact for operations
  • Manage P&L, budgets and WIPs, monitor KPIs and SLAs
  • Identify opportunities for additional works and contract growth
  • Ensure statutory, regulatory and contractual compliance
  • Coordinate inspections and ensure timely actions
  • Oversee subcontractors and specialists for quality service
  • Produce operational and commercial reports for client and senior management
  • Drive continuous improvement in service delivery, efficiency and profitability

Key requirements

  • Qualified in electrical engineering, electrical installations or mechanical engineering — C&G, NVQ, EAL or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ management experience in commercial building services/facilities management
  • Strong technical building services background
  • Proven experience managing commercial properties and engineering teams
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing P&L and budgets
  • Experience managing subcontractors and supply-chain partners
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop engineering teams
  • Experience working to contractual KPIs and SLAs
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
