GP Practice Manager

Overview

In this Practice Manager role, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across two Hemel Hempstead sites to deliver the practice’s vision and high standards. You’ll oversee safety, efficiency, patient and staff experience, and regulatory compliance, balancing long-term strategy with day-to-day operations. You will partner with GP Partners to identify service development and continuous improvement opportunities, driving digital transformation and sustainable growth. This is a hands-on senior role at scale within a patient-focused, innovative GP setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across two sites
• Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure high service standards
• Develop and maintain robust policies, procedures, and business continuity
• Lead management and development of the organisation
• Collaborate with GP Partners on strategic objectives and business plans
• Identify opportunities for service development and improvement
• Maximise NHS contract income and other funding streams
• Monitor expenditures and improve efficiency and value
• Ensure compliance with CQC and regulatory standards

Key requirements

• Significant experience as Practice Manager/Operations Manager or senior leader in primary care
• Experience managing large teams and complex healthcare operations
• Strong understanding of NHS contracts, QOF, and Enhanced Services
• Strong financial, business, and budget management skills
• Experience with CQC inspections and regulatory compliance
• Excellent communication, leadership and people-management skills
• Experience managing services across multiple sites
• Strong digital skills and interest in technology and innovation
