Senior Analog IC Design Engineer – Cardiff

Overview

In this role you will help shape the company’s analog/mixed-signal direction in a Cardiff-based startup. You will own the design—from concept to tape-out—while collaborating with digital and systems engineers to deliver production-ready silicon. You will mentor junior engineers and help foster a strong, collaborative engineering culture. This is a rare early-stage opportunity to significantly influence technology direction and impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead analog and mixed-signal design flows from concept through tape-out
• Collaborate with digital IC and systems teams to ensure cohesive silicon solutions
• Deliver production-ready silicon and drive silicon validation
• Mentor and develop junior engineers to build a strong engineering culture
• Define implementation flows and influence technical direction across projects
• Contribute to shaping the company’s technical roadmap in a startup environment

Key requirements

• Proven expertise in analog IC design with experience in data converters, power management, RF, or mixed-signal systems
• Experience delivering designs through full tape-out and silicon validation
• Deep understanding of analog fundamentals (noise, stability, matching, layout-aware design)
• Experience across the full IC development lifecycle (specification to production)
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to influence and lead technical direction
