Overview
As Public Health Principal, you will plan, manage and lead a portfolio of Live Well and Age Well work, applying advanced public health knowledge to deliver complex programmes. You will influence policy and practice across partners, guide council and NHS colleagues, and participate in the Public Health Senior Management Team. You will line-manage the Public Health team and shape professional development. This role offers scope to drive population health outcomes through collaboration with stakeholders and communities in Havering.

Responsibilities
- Plan, manage and lead a portfolio of Public Health work aligned to Live Well and Age Well
- Apply expert public health knowledge to deliver complex programmes
- Influence policy and practice across council, NHS, and partners based on sound evidence
- Advise and support decision-makers (council, NHS, partners, boards)
- Participate in the Public Health Senior Management Team and improve service capacity
- Line manage team members and support their professional development
Key requirements
- Master in Public Health or related discipline; equivalent professional experience
- Significant senior-level public health experience
- Ability to lead multiple programmes autonomously
- Strong stakeholder engagement with diverse groups
- Experience applying public health knowledge to complex programmes
- Commitment to ongoing professional development; working towards UKPHR registration via portfolio route
