Senior Project/Construction Manager – Data Centres ( FIFO/DIDO)

Overview

In this Senior Project/Construction Manager role, you will act as the client’s on-site representative to safeguard delivery standards, timelines and quality on a major NSW data centre project. You will lead site visits, chair developer rounds, and hold contractors accountable to commitments. You’ll proactively identify risks, push for acceleration, and protect the critical path to keep the client informed and in control. You’ll produce structured status and progress reports that document milestones, risks and recovery options. This is a high-responsibility, client-facing role within a leading data centre delivery team.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site oversight of the client’s interests and delivery commitments
• Conduct weekly/bi-weekly site visits and chair Developer roundtables
• Challenge developer and contractor performance and identify risks early
• Drive acceleration and programme recovery where needed
• Protect the critical path and surface blockers to avoid gaps in delivery
• Ensure inspection readiness across all scopes
• Produce bi-weekly site visit reports, roundtable minutes, action logs, and recovery logs
• Provide milestone and critical path status updates to client

Key requirements

• 15 to 20 years total experience in project and construction management
• 8+ years delivering data centre projects
• General contractor background preferred or equivalent senior site delivery experience
• Full lifecycle knowledge from mobilisation to construction completion
• Proven ability to manage GC, EC and MC interfaces and drive accountability
• Strong critical path management and programme recovery experience
• Thrives in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
• Bachelor in Construction Management; postgraduate PM qualification highly regarded
