About the company
A well-established business in the Newtownabbey area is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its finance team on a 9-month maternity contract. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this is a varied and hands-on role offering excellent exposure across financial reporting, month-end, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
This opportunity would suit either a Part-Qualified or Qualified Accountant looking to join a busy finance team and gain further experience within a large organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation and posting of monthly financial journals
- Completing month-end and year-end accounts for two group companies
- Budget, forecast and prior-year variance analysis
- Balance sheet, purchase ledger and GRNI reconciliations
- Preparation of accruals and foreign exchange calculations
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
- Preparation of statutory and regulatory submissions
- Supporting the annual external audit
- Involvement in wider finance projects
Requirements:
- Part-Qualified or Qualified Accountant
- Previous relevant finance experience
- Strong experience with monthly reconciliations
- Good Excel skills
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Microsoft Dynamics or Power BI experience would be advantageous
