Halliday Marx are exclusively searching for an Interim Financial Controller on a 15-Month Fixed Term Contract to start in October, for a global leader in their field.

Hybrid (3-4 days in)

This role leads the UK and Ireland core finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust controls and effective planning while partnering with operational leaders to support commercial decision-making.

n

Reporting to the CFO, the role leads and develops the Finance team and works closely with operational leaders and other business functions.

n

 

n

The role:

n

 

n

Management of the finance team of 9

n

Lead the month-end close and production of monthly group financial reporting

n

Oversee the accurate upload of month end into the global financial reporting system

n

Review of monthly financial movement schedules.

n

Ensure integrity of balance sheet

n

Review of sales, transaction, revenue and cost centre reports.

n

Lead and support the preparation of entity-level budgets and rolling forecasts for the group, including full profit and loss statements and capital expenditure.

n

Overseeing the annual accounting packs (under IFRS) and completion of the quarterly tax packs.

n

Overseeing and assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts

n

Manage interim and year-end audit processes

n

Overseeing corporation tax computations

n

Overseeing completion of VAT returns

n

Monitoring and review of client accruals and profitability.

n

Monitoring of external client P&L statements and internal client profitability analysis.

n

Monitor and ensure timely billing of external client P&L statements and ad hoc services.

n

Control and review of overhead expenditure invoices.

n

Monitoring of Capex

n

 

n

You will have / be:

n

 

n

A Qualified Accountant: ACCA , ACA, CIMA or equivalent

n

Lots of IFRS / UK statutory reporting understanding

n

Excellent spreadsheet skills

n

SAP would be an advantage

n

Ability to prioritise competing demands

n

Proven ability to develop, motivate and mentor finance team staff.

n

Experience of working with operational divisions

n

Confidence to challenge existing practices constructively, identify opportunities for improvement and lead changes that strengthen finance processes.

n

Sound commercial judgement and the confidence to make decisions in the best interests of the company.
