Overview
As Director of Engineering for Global Partnerships, you will shape the strategy and execution for partner integrations, API platform capabilities, and developer experience. You’ll lead multiple engineering teams across Solutions Engineering and Integrations, aligning with Product, Partnerships, and Security to deliver durable platform improvements. You’ll balance business value, reliability, and capacity while simplifying the operating model and mentoring managers. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on architecture and stakeholder communication. You help scale OpenTable’s partnership ecosystem to empower restaurants and developers.

Responsibilities
- Set the strategy and portfolio for partner integrations, APIs, developer experience and Solutions Engineering with clear trade-offs across value, commitments, reliability, and capacity
- Build a scalable Solutions Engineering model with disciplined intake, prioritization, escalation, SLAs, and communication
- Identify opportunities to improve operating models by collaborating with support, RSS and cross-functional teams
- Lead the technical direction for API Platform and Integrations, enhancing developer experience internally and for external developers
- Translate recurring partner problems into durable product, process, and documentation improvements
- Build trusted relationships across Partnerships, RSS, Product, Support, Security, Legal and Engineering
- Make timely decisions when priorities conflict and clearly communicate outcomes, risks, and trade-offs
- Lead and develop managers and senior technical leaders, strengthening delegation and succession
Key requirements
- Significant experience leading engineering organizations with multiple teams and managers
- Experience with APIs, distributed systems, platform engineering, developer experience, integrations, or other technically complex B2B ecosystems
- Proven ability to set priorities, establish escalation and operating mechanisms in high-demand environments
- Strong product judgment to distinguish repeatable opportunities from one-off requests
- Strong written and verbal communication with executives, engineers, partners, and non-technical stakeholders
- Track record of hiring, coaching, and developing managers and senior engineers
- Technical depth to review architecture and assess risk without being the primary implementer
