Senior Associate

Overview

In this role you support the Head of Plot Sale Team to grow a rapidly expanding residential plot sale practice. You will handle high-value conveyancing work and help develop client relationships, processes, and BD initiatives. You’ll work in a collaborative, flexible environment aligned with Birketts’ Next Level Law ethos and ESG commitments. The opportunity combines expert technical conveyancing with strategic business development to shape a leading regional practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing plot sale transactions for diverse clients, including complex freehold/leasehold matters
• Prepare site setup paperwork and precedents for sale contracts, transfers, and leases
• Support infrastructure agreements and legal work for new build developments
• Act for individuals and corporate clients on residential property matters and related financing
• Develop relationships with local agents and high-end property finders
• Provide technical support and training to junior team members
• Contribute to the Plot Sale Team’s business development plan and growth initiatives
• Assist in mortgage approvals for affordable products and related compliance
• Support acquisition and resale activities under Part Exchange schemes
• Collaborate with Head of Plot Sale Team to diversify work types and opportunities

Key requirements

• Solicitor/Legal Exec/Licensed Conveyancer with 4–6 years PQE from a strong regional or City firm
• Proven track record in high-value conveyancing
• Ability to market within the specialist sector and grow relationships
• Competence in MS Word, Excel, time recording software, case management, Outlook, and digital dictation
