Senior Product Manager – Core Platform (Engine, Scale & Reliability)

Overview

In this role you will shape n8n’s Core Platform to support rapid growth, focusing on scalability, reliability, security, and flexibility for customer deployments. You’ll partner with Engineering and Product leadership to define the strategy, drive major platform releases, and align cross‑org priorities. You will engage with enterprise customers to inform the roadmap and ensure platform initiatives deliver measurable customer and business impact. This is a hands-on leadership role at a pivotal moment for the product and company.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the Core Platform strategy and roadmap with engineering and product leadership
• Prioritize foundational investments based on customer impact, enterprise needs, technical risk, and engineering effort; make explicit trade-offs
• Lead technical discovery for complex problems with enterprise customers and internal teams
• Drive scalability and reliability of the execution engine, including worker pools and distributed execution
• Improve reliability of triggers and execution across diverse deployments (cloud, self-hosted, enterprise)
• Shape secure and flexible code execution approaches within n8n
• Plan and release major or breaking platform versions, including migration strategy and risk management
• Establish clear success measures and hold squads accountable for outcomes
• Bridge Core team and wider org; translate platform trade-offs for non-technical stakeholders
• Treat internal product teams as customers and translate cross-cutting needs into Core Platform work

Key requirements

• 5+ years in product, with 2–3 years in platform/infrastructure/backend/backend/API products
• Credible with senior engineers; able to reason about distributed systems and non-functional requirements
• Led cross‑team technical initiatives with real delivery risk (e.g., migrations or breaking changes)
• Ability to make explicit trade-offs and connect foundational work to customer/commercial outcomes
• Ownership and autonomy; proactive problem-solver who drives outcomes
• Exceptional communication; able to articulate complex platform topics to diverse audiences
• Experience with enterprise/self-hosted environments and deployments
