Head of Legal – Fintech

Overview

You will lead and shape the legal function in a growing FinTech business, reporting to the CEO and senior stakeholders. You’ll own contract drafting, licensing, risk and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and mentor a small legal team. This role sits at the heart of strategic growth, ensuring lawful operations as the company expands globally. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and drive sustainable expansion.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate contracts across commercial, vendor, supplier, employment and trade
• Lead all licensing applications
• Ensure regulatory standards are met and maintained across jurisdictions
• Research and anticipate legal issues impacting the business
• Manage and develop a small in-house legal team

Key requirements

• UK Qualified Lawyer
• minimum 10 years PQE
• in-house FinTech experience
