Application Support Engineer – Fintech

Overview

In this fintech-focused role, you will provide technical and functional support for banking applications, driving root-cause analysis and deployment strategies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve reliability and supportability, with a clear path toward product management or platform ownership. Responsibilities

• Provide both technical and functional support to business users across applications
• Conduct root cause analysis and document/implement solutions
• Manage changes and review deployment designs
• Contribute design input for new projects, considering reuse and integration
• Oversee release and configuration management, and monitor app servers
• Install, configure and administer applications and associated infrastructure
• Ensure servers operate within expected parameters using monitoring tools

Key requirements

• 3 years of commercial Application Support experience
• Degree with a technology or science focus
• Experience supporting COTS applications at 3rd line level
• Familiarity with ITSM platforms (HP Service Desk, ServiceNow, BMC) and ITIL processes
• SQL, RDBMS (SQL Server and/or Oracle)
• IIS or equivalent Web Server; Server administration (Windows)
• DNS and Active Directory
• Virtualisation, Citrix, Digital Certificate Management, Networking; integration concepts (Messaging, FTP/SFTP, ETL, Web Services)
• ITIL knowledge; UML familiarity preferred
