Manager, Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Engineering and Design team, ensuring competency and effective resource use to meet current and future needs
• Ensure technical integrity, quality, and regulatory compliance of engineering work
• Provide technical leadership across activities and resolve complex technical challenges
• Coordinate engineering activities across Concept, FEED, Detailed Design, Fabrication and Construction
• Define and manage engineering scope, deliverables, resources and priorities for project planning
• Ensure activities comply with legislation, standards, and client/company procedures
• Promote HSEQ culture within the team
• Support recruitment, competency development, performance management and succession planning
• Maintain technical relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Identify and implement improvements to processes, tools and digital technologies
• Provide engineering input to tenders, proposals, estimates and planning
• Participate in management and planning meetings with leadership and technical input

Key requirements

• Extensive experience in engineering and design within the energy industry
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, project execution methods and offshore operations
• Knowledge of relevant engineering regulations, standards, and legislative requirements
• Proven track record leading multidisciplinary engineering and design teams
• Experience managing engineering scope, deliverables, resources, priorities, and interfaces
• Strong technical problem-solving, decision-making and risk management abilities
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder-management skills
• Experience developing engineering teams, including competency, performance, and development
• Experience identifying and implementing engineering process improvements and digital transformations
• Awareness of commercial and project-delivery considerations relevant to engineering activities
• Working knowledge of engineering, design and project-management tools and systems
• Ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders
