LM2500 Senior Project Engineer / Subject Matter Expert

Overview

In this role you will be the local subject matter expert for LM2500 engineering, supporting overhaul, outages and field service activities. You will develop and review job packs, assist with tech transfers, and provide technical support to field teams and LTSA customers. You will also produce performance and condition reports using remote monitoring data, while contributing to audits, improvements and cross-functional projects. This role offers global exposure and 24/7 support, with travel to supplier and customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Serve as local SME on LM2500 engineering work
• Create, review and develop job packs for Full Unit, GG, Hot Section and PT works
• Lead technology transfers from Chromalloy overhaul shop
• Provide technical support to Field Service Engineers during outages
• Review outage/overhaul reports and formulate engineering conclusions and recommendations
• Participate in 24/7 emergency support rota for LTSA customers
• Advise on Gas Turbine performance, operating parameters and troubleshooting
• Create unit status/Condition Monitoring reports using CTSL Tiger remote monitoring data
• Support wider business through additional tasks, audits, and improvement initiatives
• Provide technical support to Sales including drafting technical presentations
• Travel domestically and internationally to supplier and customer sites

Key requirements

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in overhaul of LM2500 Gas Turbines with hands-on trouble-shooting
• Degree level or equivalent in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering
• Familiar with UK and International Onshore/Offshore standards (e.g., MIST, ATEX)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to learn new business systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to engage across management levels
