Freelance Ladieswear Designer
We are looking for an experienced Freelance Ladieswear Designer, specialising in mature ladieswear.
The ideal candidate will have strong all-round womenswear design experience and be confident designing across a wide range of product categories, including:
- Tops & blouses
- Dresses
- Knitwear
- Trousers & bottoms
- Jackets & outerwear
- Co-ordinated pieces and other ladieswear
Key Responsibilities
Designing commercial, stylish and wearable collections for the mature ladieswear market
- Creating new styles and developing existing designs
- CAD design and preparation for sampling, including accurate size specifications
- Creating and developing prints, patterns and colourways
- Working closely with the sampling and production process to ensure designs are clearly communicated
- Keeping up to date with current fashion trends while understanding the needs of the mature customer
- Working independently and managing deadlines across multiple projects
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with:
Proven experience as a Ladieswear Designer
Strong CAD skills and experience preparing designs for sampling
A good understanding of garment construction, fit and sizing
A commercial eye and ability to design with the customer and market in mind
Working Pattern
Freelance – 2 days per week in the office, with the possibility of 3 days depending on workload.
Freelance rate/salary dependent on experience and the right candidate.
