Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal,Stockport is an inpatient mental health service for young peopleand adults. It is accessible by public transport, with local busroutes along Wilmslow Road and Cheadle Hulme and East Didsburyrailway stations approximately 1–2 miles from theservice.
What you'll bedoing
The Consultant Psychologistwill work closely with the Head of Psychology in delivering thestrategic direction of the service to the hospitaldirector/director of services/medical director. The ConsultantPsychologist will ensure both the professional psychologicalpractice and quality of the psychology department, to ensureexcellence in patient experience and outcomes. You will contributeto the development of audit of services at your site and morebroadly when required and asked by your Head of Psychology. Youwill be required to support the development and delivery ofbehavioural and other psychological interventions for patients andservice users and provide appropriately developed psychologicallyinformed guidance to reduce risks, aid recovery and independence.You will also provide consultation to the Head of Psychology andSenior Managers as required, and work within clinical and researchgovernance initiatives.

RelevantMasters degree
HCPC Registration required
Theideal candidate will have a confident grasp of CognitiveBehavioural Therapy (CBT) along with proficiency in at least twoother therapeutic modalities, one of which should include trainingin interventions suitable for working with location-specific orrelevant clinical disorders. They should demonstrate a solidunderstanding and application of therapeutic principles, with awillingness to undertake additional training if not alreadycompleted. Experience in working with complex clients anddelivering highly specialist interventions is essential, as is theability to operate at a strategic level. Training in clinicalsupervision, as well as experience in conducting assessmentsrelevant to the specific environment and population, is required.Additionally, the candidate should bring leadership and managementexperience, alongside proven skills in service planning anddevelopment.
