Overview

In this Finance Manager role, you’ll drive financial and commercial performance for the Argos Electricals & Toys category through deep business partnering, strategic planning, and continuous improvement. You’ll lead a finance team, partner with senior stakeholders, and shape trading decisions with timely insights. You’ll own strategic business cases and post-implementation reviews, influencing decisions that impact the bottom line. The role offers fast-paced, cross-functional collaboration in a FTSE retail environment with meaningful scope and autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to drive value creation and performance in the Electricals & Toys category
• Provide insightful analysis and commentary to stakeholders for daily trading and long-term FP&A
• Lead a team of finance analysts and manage resources
• Participate in strategic trading meetings and develop strategic business cases
• Support post-implementation reviews and ad hoc projects
• Interpret management reporting, identify risks/opportunities, and deliver timely analysis to influence decisions

Key requirements

• Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Commercial finance business partnering experience in FMCG/GM/Retail
• Proven line management experience (two direct reports)
• Experience analysing and interpreting financial and operational data to drive performance
• Clear communication of financial information to stakeholders with varying financial knowledge
• Proven ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
