Overview

As Head of Software Engineering at Experian Software Solutions, you will lead and shape globally distributed ID&F engineering teams, translating strategy into measurable delivery. You will drive AI-native practices, modernise legacy systems, and partner with product and business leaders to tackle complex challenges at scale. You’ll manage talent, budgets, and governance while evangelising innovation and data-driven decision making. This role offers high-impact work at the intersection of security, compliance, and technology transformation.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead global, high-performing engineering teams with clear direction and accountability
• Translate strategic objectives into executable delivery plans and operating rhythms for consistent quality
• Champion AI-native engineering culture with automation and data-driven decision making
• Provide technical leadership across Java Full Stack, .NET, AWS, EKS, Claude, Cursor, and modern deployment practices
• Lead technology modernization to simplify legacy environments and adopt new platforms and ways of working
• Act as trusted advisor for complex business and tech challenges with structured thinking
• Collaborate with product, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to align priorities and remove blockers
• Ensure engineering decisions satisfy governance, security, compliance, and risk standards
• Oversee workforce planning, talent strategy, hiring, succession, and coaching development
• Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and resourcing, representing engineering in senior leadership forums

Key requirements

• Strong people leadership across global teams, driving best practices and technical excellence
• Proficiency in .NET, AWS, EKS, DevOps, Claude, Cursor-based engineering; Java experience highly desirable
• Experience applying AI tools and driving adoption within engineering teams
• Experience in secure development environments
• Ability to build relationships and influence decision making using data
