Overview

In this role you will take commercial ownership of London-based fit-out projects, from post-contract to final account, ensuring value and risk are managed. You will work closely with clients, design teams and subcontractors to drive commercial performance on Cat A/B schemes. The position offers exposure to fast-paced, design-led projects and opportunities to influence cost planning and value engineering. You will be part of a growing team delivering high-quality commercial spaces with a clear progression path.

Responsibilities

  • Take commercial ownership from post-contract to final account
  • Prepare valuations, payment applications, and CVRs
  • Procure and negotiate with specialist subcontractors and suppliers
  • Measure and price variations; manage change control with clients/design teams
  • Prepare and agree final accounts; protect commercial position
  • Identify and manage commercial risk; report to Commercial Manager/Director
  • Build relationships with clients, main contractors and design teams
  • Support pre-construction cost planning and tender adjudication
  • Attend site and client progress meetings to ensure alignment

Key requirements

  • Proven QS experience in commercial fit-out (Cat A/Cat B)
  • Strong understanding of JCT and/or NEC contracts
  • Experience managing final accounts and commercial risk on fast-paced projects
  • Experience working with clients and design teams on London schemes
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
