Overview

In this role you will deliver general and occupational healthcare within a defense setting, supporting the Whole Force with high-quality GP services. You will work across the Benson Combined Practice and Abingdon Medical Centre, contributing to patient care, occupational health, and governance. You’ll handle routine and emergency care, conduct medical exams, and participate in audits and incident planning. Responsibilities

• Provide general healthcare to registered patients during normal practice hours
• Provide primary care emergency treatment when required
• Maximise health, wellbeing and employability of Service personnel
• Undertake mandatory medical examinations and provide occupational healthcare and related admin duties
• Supervise management of communicable diseases and reporting through single Service chains
• Provide emergency treatment and accident reporting for MOD civilian staff
• Liaise with the Practice Manager on service administration matters
• Be familiar with major incident and infectious disease outbreak plans
• Be actively involved in clinical governance and participate in audits

Key requirements

• Full GMC registration (GP Register)
• UK professional registration (current)
• Security clearance: SC
• Immunity to Hepatitis B evidenced by serology
• Disclosures and pre-employment checks
• Relevant qualifications/memberships as stated in the job specification
