Senior Quantity Surveyor | Main Contractor | Data Centre & Industrial Build

Overview

As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will lead commercial management on data centre and industrial projects, driving cost control, forecasting, and final accounts. You will collaborate with project teams to align commercial decisions with programme and quality goals, shaping project outcomes and protecting the commercial position. This role offers leadership in a dynamic contracting environment across the UK and Europe and a clear path to influence project success. You will engage with subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders to deliver accurate reporting and robust valuations. You will operate with initiative in a fast-paced, team-driven setting.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of work packages
• Overall commercial responsibility for allocated packages, ensuring cost control from procurement to final account
• Administer subcontract agreements and manage valuations, variations, payments, and correspondence
• Prepare and present monthly cost reports, forecasts, and cashflows
• Manage variations, compensation events, and potential claims
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, and site teams to support programme and delivery objectives

Key requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience with proven track record in valuations, variations, final accounts and cost reporting
• Experience within commercial/industrial/data centre build desirable
• Understanding of specifications, BOQs, and drawings; ability to extract quantities from drawings
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other Quantity Surveying packages
• Strong budgetary responsibility, programming and reporting skills
• Excellent written and oral communication, organisational and time management skills
• Self-starter, highly flexible, team player with ability to work with minimal supervision
