Overview
In this role you will manage a busy property disputes caseload within a regional law firm, delivering commercially focused advice. You will build credibility with clients, manage expectations, and contribute to business development and the team’s growth. The position supports junior colleagues and requires active engagement in networking and sector development. It offers a dynamic, risk-aware environment with opportunities to shape a niche in property litigation.
Responsibilities
- Manage a busy caseload of property disputes efficiently
- Build credibility with clients and manage expectations on outcomes, risks and timescales
- Scope fees for existing clients and ensure profitability
- Develop sector knowledge and demonstrate expertise to clients
- Proactively reduce risk and adhere to risk processes
- Support business development through pitches, networking and client relationships
- Assist with pitches and opportunities to promote the firm’s services
- Delegate tasks and monitor progress to meet deadlines
- Support junior team members with guidance and knowledge
- Track performance against KPIs and assist with budget management on matters
- Understand changes in the legal sector and how they impact the firm
- Maintain clear communication with colleagues across seniority levels
- Progress personal development objectives
Key requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 2–4 years’ PQE in property disputes
- Ability to manage own caseload and delegate work appropriately
- Strong client management skills and commitment to excellent service
- Desirable: experience coaching or mentoring junior lawyers
