Principal Public Protection Officer (Private Sector Housing)

Overview

In this role you lead housing standards and tenant protection initiatives within the Public Protection Service. You will drive the implementation of housing legislation, including Renters’ Rights Act, and oversee licensing and compliance functions. You will manage a team of Environmental Health Officers and Regulatory Compliance Officers, collaborating with service managers to deliver broader public protection objectives. Responsibilities

• Lead improvements in housing standards and tenant protection
• Oversee enforcement of housing and landlord laws and apply sanctions for non-compliance
• Lead licensing functions and monitor compliance activities
• Conduct housing standards assessments and investigations of breaches
• Manage and develop a team of Environmental Health Officers and Regulatory Compliance Officers
• Collaborate with other Principal Officers and service managers on wider public protection initiatives

Key requirements
