Mobile Lead Engineer

Overview

As Lead Engineer at Mitie in Bristol, you will lead a mobile engineering team delivering planned and reactive maintenance across sites in Oxford, Southampton and beyond. You ensure safe, compliant work in line with Health & Safety policies and the MITIE framework, and you actively drive KPIs and SLAs. You’ll manage day and shift engineers, coordinate ad hoc fabric and electrical maintenance, and support continuous improvement. This role offers training, a company van, and the chance to shape engineering performance across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Travel to sites to perform maintenance and reactive works
• Ensure equipment and services operate safely per Health & Safety policies
• Manage a team of engineers including day and shift staff
• Carry out ad hoc on-site fabric and related tasks
• Meet KPIs and SLAs as a core part of the role

Key requirements

• Experience in people management or team leadership
• Experience in electrical repair and maintenance
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience in maintenance and fabric works
• Trade qualifications or H&S experience desirable
• Full UK driving licence and availability for call-out rota
