Mechanical Engineer

Overview

As a Mechanical Engineer in our water and wastewater projects team, you will deliver innovative mechanical designs across the project lifecycle. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary design group to progress feasibility through to detailed design and construction, helping modernise critical UK water infrastructure. You will collaborate with site teams to resolve technical issues and support construction, while contributing to tender and documentation processes. Responsibilities

• Develop concept and detailed mechanical designs for water industry projects
• Produce calculations, drawings, reports and design documentation
• Support feasibility, optioneering and detailed design phases
• Assist with tender submissions, planning and contract documentation
• Coordinate with site teams to resolve technical issues during construction
• Conduct site surveys, inspections and feasibility studies
• Collaborate with Senior/Principal Engineers to deliver projects on time and within budget

Key requirements

• Experience designing mechanical systems for water, wastewater or process engineering
• Knowledge of pumping systems and pump selection software
• Understanding of clean water and wastewater treatment processes and equipment
• Ability to undertake site surveys and develop practical engineering solutions
• Strong communication and collaborative project delivery skills
• Full UK driving licence
