Financial Controller

Overview

In this leadership role you oversee Lloyd’s syndicate financial reporting for a global market leader, guiding a Finance team across multiple regimes. You will shape statutory and regulatory filings, drive close processes, and partner with group leadership on strategic priorities. The role offers exposure to senior leadership at entity and group levels and a chance to lead cross-regulatory reporting programs. You’ll work in a collaborative environment focused on process improvements and financial governance.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and lead the Syndicate Finance team with oversight of Lloyd’s reporting (US GAAP, UK GAAP, Solvency, international returns, tax) and planning
• Ensure timely, accurate completion of statutory statements and regulatory filings
• Own financial accounting processes, close controls, and continuous improvements
• Coordinate with group, external auditors, and committees
• Drive syndicate finance objectives and group strategic priorities

Key requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 5+ years post-qualification experience in the Lloyd’s market
• Insurance industry and Lloyd’s market experience (practice or industry)
• Strong knowledge of US/UK GAAP, Solvency UK, and Lloyd’s reporting
• Proven leadership experience with stakeholder management
• Advanced IT skills including GL systems and Microsoft applications
