Overview
In this role you support the Finance Manager and the broader finance team within the Shared Service Centre to deliver robust accounting and management information. You will own cashbook and bank reconciliation processes, process payments timely, and contribute to audits and year-end reporting. You’ll improve accounting procedures, maintain clear process notes, and participate in finance-driven projects across the SSC and Group. This is a hands-on position at a well-established equipment rental group with a focus on accuracy, initiative, and service quality.

Responsibilities
- Own cashbooks and bank reconciliations procedures, ensuring standards and timetables are met
- Administer payment requests using prescribed procedures within deadlines
- Assist in compiling data for external/internal audits and year-end reporting
- Operate and improve your share of accounting processes; provide balance sheet support
- Maintain up-to-date procedure notes for defined areas of responsibility
- Participate in key Finance Team, SSC, and Group projects
- Perform additional duties as needed to support smooth business operations
Key requirements
- Finance, accounting or other numerical degree or studying towards AAT or other financial qualification (e.g. ACCA / CIMA)
- Willingness to progress with accounting qualifications
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Positive attitude and responsibility for customer service in finance
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good degree of competence in Excel
- Experience in a finance environment is beneficial (not required)
