Responsibilities

• Dispensary & medicines management: ensure safe, timely, and secure supply of medications; oversee transport and handling of medicines; supervise pharmacy technicians; maintain day-to-day dispensary operations.
• Clinical duties: conduct medication reviews, develop care plans, perform yearly audits on controlled drugs, antibiotics, and PGDs; provide SMRs; participate in clinics and advise on medications; manage minor ailments; optimise medicines usage; administer medications on the wing as needed.
• Prescribing & monitoring: clinically screen prescriptions for safety and legality; review admission histories and adjust as needed; monitor antimicrobial prescribing per AMR guidelines; evaluate prescribing trends and advise on formulary standards.

Key requirements

• GPhC registration as a Pharmacist
• Master’s degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
• Independent prescriber
• Previous UK-prison/hospital/community pharmacy experience
