Overview

In this Site Manager role you lead the daily operations of an NHS GP practice within Groves Health, guiding a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality, patient‑centred care. You’ll work with clinical and operational leaders to drive service improvement, governance, and compliance across NHS and CQC standards. This position offers autonomy at a growing multi-site organisation with opportunities to shape services and develop staff. You will tackle varied challenges and lead positive change in a collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership for the practice and ensure safe, efficient, high-quality patient services
  • Lead and develop administrative and reception teams to sustain a high-performing, patient-centred culture
  • Manage workforce activities including recruitment, induction, performance and absence management, staff wellbeing, and mandatory training
  • Ensure compliance with CQC, NHS contractual requirements, GDPR, health and safety, safeguarding, and practice policies
  • Lead investigations of complaints and significant events with focus on learning and continuous improvement
  • Monitor performance and support achievement of QOF, enhanced services, and other contractual targets
  • Collaborate with Partners, Senior Management Team, PCN colleagues, and external organisations on service development
  • Oversee governance, risk management, business continuity and quality assurance processes; maintain policies and risk registers
  • Manage premises, facilities, IT systems and resources to keep the environment safe and fit for purpose
  • Support payroll, pensions, workforce administration and financial processes with Finance and HR
  • Promote excellent communication through regular team meetings and a culture of engagement and accountability
  • Deputise for senior management as needed and perform other duties to support practice operations

Key requirements

  • Significant management experience within General Practice, Primary Care, or the NHS
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing day-to-day operations
  • Workforce management experience including recruitment, performance, and staff development
  • Financial management, budgeting and resource planning
  • CQC compliance, clinical governance and risk management
  • Delivery of NHS contractual requirements including QOF and enhanced services
  • Experience managing complaints, incidents and organisational change
  • Strong IT and data management experience with clinical systems and performance reporting
