Garage Duty Supervisor

Overview

In this role you will supervise the safe, efficient operations at a bus depot, ensuring the correct number of vehicles are available and allocated to routes. You will lead the shift, perform pre-service checks, and liaise with Engineering and iBus Control to keep run outs and run ins on track. You will also conduct drugs and alcohol testing when required and support garage administration, vehicle parking, and safety compliance. This position offers direct impact on operational reliability and fleet readiness in a busy depot environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the required number of vehicles are available to cover services and allocate vehicles to routes
• Act as primary supervisor during your shift and coordinate with teams to support operations
• Perform pre-service checks and allocate contingency/ support vehicles as needed
• Liaise with Engineering teams and iBus Control to ensure efficient run out/run in and vehicle readiness
• Assist drivers and ensure buses are prepared and plated
• Carry out drugs and alcohol testing when required
• Assist Garage management with administrative tasks
• Manage return bus allocation and maintain parking areas per the parking plan

Key requirements

• Hold a valid PCV Licence
• Good attendance record
