Asset Management Principal Consultant

Overview

As an Asset Management Principal Consultant within Arcadis’ UK rail team, you will shape and deliver the rail asset management strategy and lead consultancy projects that unlock value for clients. You’ll contribute to global advisory work across mobility, resilience and places, while developing our asset management capability. The role offers leadership opportunities, relationship-building with clients, and the chance to act as a subject matter expert in asset management. You’ll work in a dynamic, growth-minded environment that values practical, data-driven solutions to complex transport challenges.

Responsibilities

• Deliver asset management projects on time, within quality and budget targets
• Contribute to UK mobility asset management strategy and build global capability
• Develop asset management strategies, change programmes and business cases
• Design and implement ISO55001-aligned management systems
• Optimise investment decisions and long-term planning for asset portfolios
• Create tools for value-driven decisions on renewals, maintenance and improvements
• Prepare asset strategies, management plans and maintenance optimisation programmes
• Drive operational efficiency improvements and enhance data maturity
• Build and manage client and stakeholder relationships to deliver positive outcomes
• Represent Arcadis in the rail asset management market and support growth opportunities

Key requirements

• Experience with transportation clients, asset-rich organisations, or transport consultancy
• Proven ability to resolve strategic, tactical and operational challenges in asset management
• Delivery or management of asset, infrastructure or technology projects in the transport sector
• Project management experience
• Strong communication and numeracy skills
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
• Leadership experience managing professional teams
• External accreditation (e.g., MCA or IAM) or willingness to pursue it
