Senior Building Surveyor

Overview

In this role you will lead technical due diligence and building surveying work within a growing specialist team. You’ll manage transaction-based assignments for UK clients, delivering risk-focused advice and professional consultancy while maintaining project profitability. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior surveyors, and represent Arcadis as a trusted advisor. This is a practical, client-facing opportunity to shape asset value and service delivery at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead Technical Due Diligence (TDD) engagements, identifying risks, assessing severity, and delivering actionable mitigation recommendations
• Deliver core building surveying services alongside TDD across commercial properties
• Manage and commission assignments with a focus on timely, cost-effective outcomes
• Drive service delivery, risk management, and continuous improvement within the team
• Support revenue growth and delivery of the commercial building surveying business plan
• Provide professional technical consultancy including TDD and condition surveys
• Communicate clearly with clients and project managers to ensure successful project execution
• Mentor and develop junior building surveyors, fostering technical knowledge within the team
• Represent the company professionally to clients and stakeholders
• Provide progress updates to Sector Director with measurable contract metrics
• Balance multiple instructions and maintain financial control to protect profitability
• Guide team collaboration to ensure high-quality outputs and client satisfaction

Key requirements

• MRICS qualified
• Degree in Building Surveying
• Time served post-qualification experience (PQE)
• Commercial surveying experience with emphasis on Technical Due Diligence
• Ability to manage and deliver technical consultancy and condition surveys
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Financial accountability for project profitability
• Mentorship and team leadership capabilities
