Residential Property Lawyer / Conveyancer – Taunton

In this role you guide a varied residential property caseload, from freehold and leasehold transactions to remortgages and buy-to-let matters. Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of residential property matters (freehold/leasehold, new builds, shared ownership, transfers, buy-to-let)
• Handle remortgage, equity release, and auction transactions
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and title reports
• Conduct property searches, title checks, and prepare client reports
• Liaise with clients, lenders, estate agents, surveyors, and other professionals
• Oversee registrations, SDLT submissions, and file closure
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and AML procedures

Key requirements

• Qualified solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive (with practice rights) or Licensed Conveyancer
• Strong drafting and technical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to manage matters independently
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Motivated, organized, proactive
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal IT systems
• Experience in a law firm supporting fee earners
