Overview
As a Senior Associate in the Financial Services Disputes and Investigations team, you will handle high-value professional negligence cases for major financial institutions. You will collaborate with senior lawyers and support staff to deliver strategic, commercial outcomes for clients. The role combines case management, supervision of junior lawyers, and involvement in business development to grow the practice. You will work in a fast‑growing, award-winning firm known for a collaborative culture and strong training. Responsibilities
- Manage a varied contentious caseload focused on professional negligence
- Provide strategic and commercial legal advice on disputes
- Supervise and support junior team members
- Collaborate with senior lawyers on complex, high‑value matters
- Engage in business development and nurture client relationships
- Contribute to legal updates, know-how, and internal knowledge development
Key requirements
- Qualified solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered)
- 4–6 PQE (applications outside this range considered)
- Experience running own caseload of professional negligence matters
- Strong understanding of CPR and litigation process
- Background in financial litigation preferred; insurance, property, or commercial litigation also welcome
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers (desirable)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Commercial awareness and client relationship management
- Collaborative approach and enthusiasm for mentoring junior colleagues
