As part of our Flexible Generation business, we operate two efficient gas-fired power stations in north County Dublin. About the Role
The Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, administration, support, and continual improvement of business-critical enterprise applications, platforms, and infrastructure across Energia FlexGen. Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, the role will work across IT and OT environments, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable, and aligned with business requirements. The Systems Engineer will collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to deliver application support, system integrations, automation initiatives, asset management solutions, and cloud-based technologies. The role will play a key part in driving operational efficiency, maintaining enterprise platforms, and supporting strategic digital transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
Day-to-day, heres what your new role would look like:
Design, administer, and maintain enterprise applications and business-critical systems.
Lead and support Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and CMDB initiatives, ensuring data quality, governance, and lifecycle management of assets.
Provide application support, incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis for operational and business systems.
Support and maintain database environments.
Develop and maintain integrations between enterprise applications using APIs and API Management (APIM) technologies.
Support cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure platforms, ensuring high availability and performance.
Work with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for process automation and service improvements.
Plan, coordinate, and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities for system upgrades, changes, and new implementations.
Create and maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, operational procedures, and support knowledge articles.
Collaborate with vendors and third-party suppliers to resolve issues and implement platform enhancements.
Ensure solutions comply with cybersecurity, governance, and operational standards.
Participate in projects supporting digital transformation, infrastructure modernisation, and operational technology initiatives.
Provide technical guidance and support to business users and IT colleagues.

Enterprise reporting and Power BI administration Training, both documentation and providing training in-house to staff
