Strategic Asset Manager

• Lead the strategic management of the Council’s property portfolio




• Ensure assets are used effectively to support corporate priorities, generate value and deliver benefits for residents




• Drive the Council’s asset management strategy and property review programme




• Lead acquisitions, disposals, valuations, estate management and income generation activities




• Provide expert property advice to Members and senior officers




• Lead major property projects and transactions




• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners




• Manage a professional property team and deliver high-quality services




• Shape strategic property decisions supporting regeneration objectives




• Maximise the value and performance of the Council’s land and property assets

Requirements

• Experienced property professional with strong strategic, commercial and leadership skills




• Proven track record in corporate asset management, estate management, property disposals and acquisitions, valuations and income generation




• Relevant professional property qualification




• Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)




• Substantial experience managing diverse property portfolios




• Experience leading high-performing teams




• Thorough understanding of asset management, property law and local government property practices




• Ability to influence senior stakeholders, elected Members and external partners




• Commercially minded, politically aware and an excellent negotiator




• Strong leadership skills




• DBS check may be required for positions involving access to children, young people or vulnerable groups




• Basic Disclosure Scotland check may be required for roles involving access to government databases, information obtained directly from them or a GCSX account
