An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our friendly and supportive Neighbourhood Mental Health Team in Horsham.
Working with adults experiencing serious and enduring mental health difficulties, you’ll use your specialist occupational therapy skills to support people to achieve their recovery goals, maximise independence and improve their quality of life through meaningful occupation and engagement within their communities.
The role
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you’ll provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and deliver evidence-based, person-centred interventions as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Plan and deliver specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions
- Support people to identify and work towards meaningful recovery goals
- Facilitate therapeutic groups and Recovery Through Activity sessions
- Develop occupation-focused approaches that promote recovery, wellbeing and independence
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner organisations across the local health and care system
- Contribute your occupational therapy perspective to multidisciplinary assessment, care planning and service development
Our therapeutic model is grounded in relational, attachment and trauma-informed approaches, supporting meaningful co-production with the people who use our services. Mentalisation-based therapy (MBT) is a core part of our model, and you’ll be encouraged and supported to access further training and development.

You’ll receive comprehensive supervision and reflective practice, alongside opportunities to develop your specialist occupational therapy skills and experience.
About you
You’ll be a registered Occupational Therapist with experience relevant to working with people with complex mental health needs.
You’ll need:
- A degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Evidence of postgraduate-level study or training
- Practice Education training
- Training in the use of standardised occupational therapy assessment tools
We’re particularly interested in hearing from Occupational Therapists who enjoy creative and collaborative working and want to further develop their skills in group work, recovery-focused interventions and community mental health.

Working pattern: 37.5 hours per week, within the service’s Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm opening hours.
