We’re looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Assessment & Support Officer to join our Westmorland & Furness team, helping unpaid carers access the support, information and services they need to live well alongside their caring role.

About the Role
You’ll work directly with unpaid carers, carrying out person-centred assessments, identifying needs and strengths, and co-producing support plans that help carers achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.
You’ll build trusted relationships, provide information and guidance, connect carers with local services, and ensure their voices are heard. The role involves working across the community, meeting carers where they feel most comfortable and helping them navigate challenges with confidence, full driving license and vehicle to use for work purposes are essential.
About You
You may already have experience in health, social care, community services or the voluntary sector. However, we also welcome applicants with transferable skills and lived experience who are passionate about supporting others.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has excellent listening and communication skills
- Can build positive relationships and work collaboratively
- Is organised, compassionate and solution-focused
- Shares our commitment to inclusion, dignity and respect
- Has a driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use
