Overview

In this role you contribute to a major UK Small Modular Reactor programme by delivering structural analysis and design for reinforced concrete and steel structures. You will work within multidisciplinary teams to develop calculations, reports, and design substantiation, while ensuring regulatory compliance and technical assurance. The position includes opportunities to provide technical leadership and mentoring at the Lead level, shaping how critical nuclear infrastructure is designed and assessed. This role offers impact at scale in a mission-driven field with cross-project collaboration and regulatory scrutiny.

Responsibilities

• Structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete and steel structures
• Development of calculations, technical reports and design substantiation
• Assessment of structures under normal, environmental and extreme loading conditions
• Working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Supporting technical assurance and regulatory compliance activities
• Providing technical leadership and mentoring (Lead level)

Key requirements

• Experience in Nuclear, Energy, Defence, Rail, Power generation, or major infrastructure projects
• Chartered status desirable for senior positions; consideration for candidates working towards Chartership
• British Citizens / British Passport Holders only due to SC Clearance; sponsorship not offered
