Associate Director – Central & Local Government

Overview

As Associate Director in the Central and Local Government Real Estate team, you lead large, complex projects that deliver public sector value. You’ll shape strategy, plans and budgets while guiding cross‑functional delivery from enabling stages through to handover. You’ll work with major clients on high‑profile commissions and manage risks, communications and stakeholder relationships. This role offers impact through shaping projects in a growth‑mensitive firm with an entrepreneurial culture and clear 2025 ambitions.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing project strategies, plans and budgets
• Leading residential-led or mixed-use projects at the enabling stage
• Establishing and maintaining project processes and systems
• Monitoring and reporting on progress and performance indicators
• Managing and mitigating risks and issues
• Preparing and delivering written project communications
• Preparing and presenting formal progress reports
• Coordinating clients, contractors and designers
• Attending and chairing meetings and drafting minutes

Key requirements

• Relevant qualification (construction, real estate, planning, engineering)
• Full time with flexible working and home working
• Ability to travel London/Home Counties/South East
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, presentation, written)
• Strong leadership skills
• Strategic problem solving
• Experience with multiple stakeholders including clients, contractors and end-users
• CDM/site health and safety knowledge
• Engineering qualification and/or background (civil/structural/mechanical/electrical)
• Understanding of development lifecycle (business case, design, consents, procurement, delivery, handover, management)
• Direct on-site construction experience
• Experience in residential-led or mixed-use projects at enabling stage
