Overview
In this Category Manager role, you will deliver professional procurement support from the Scunthorpe site, shaping commercial frameworks and ensuring continuity of supply. You will manage strategic contracts and supplier relationships, working within the procurement team to cover the full procure-to-pay process. The role requires partnering with stakeholders at all levels to balance cost, quality, and security of supply while contributing to team excellence and development opportunities. This is an impactful position in a large industrial environment with room to influence procurement strategy and supplier performance.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain commercial frameworks to support operations
- Manage strategic contracts and supplier relationships
- Provide category management support across the full P2P process
- Translate business requirements into effective procurement activity
- Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to balance cost, quality, and supply security
- Contribute to people and stakeholder management within procurement
- Adapt quickly to changing customer and business needs
Key requirements
- Experience in procurement, category management, strategic contract management or supplier relationship management
- Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- CIPS membership or progress towards qualification preferred
- Understanding of procurement processes and P2P cycle
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently
- Clear communication to engage with stakeholders at different levels
- IT literate with experience using Microsoft Office
